We are getting to that point again. We have almost 700 creative members out there. And I am just about of articles for the ezine. I do have a couple of articles by Rosemary that I have not printed yet, but I don't want to use more than one article by the same person in any one issue. So it is time to bug you again for articles for the ezine. Remember, it is primarily written by you, I only compile it. I heard that, someone just said, "But I can't even spell and don't know how to punctuate." OK, that is not a problem. That much editing I will do on any article that is submitted. I run the entire ezine through a spell checker and correct spelling errors. And I will fix punctuation. But I never change the text. So what you see is what was written by the author, it may be cleaned up a little bit, but not one word is changed.

How would you go about writing an article for the ezine? That is entirely up to you. Some just list the facts (with maybe an opinion or two thrown in), check out Mark's articles for an example of that. Others may take a logical approach to get their ideas across, take a look at Rosemary's article. Still others pass on their wisdom as a story, tale or fable. Take a look at Bryan's story. He always tells stories that contain one or more lessons, you just have to find them.. So get out your thinking caps, limber up your fingers and type up an article or three for the ezine and send them to me. Then watch future issues to see your artistic creation published.

Birth stones of December/ Geo Stocking Stuffers:

Once again, I present a List of the Stones corresponding best to the Month of December and the appropriate Astrological signs from a number of sources. RUBY: Stimulates and re-vitalizes whole body and mind via blood circulatory and nervous systems. Used to treat heart and blood disorders, staunch blood flow from open wounds (and prevent them on battlefield), ward against miscarriages and poverty by drawing money to user. Red color indicates can be utilized in 1st Chakra work.

BLOODSTONE: Legendary healing stone for any blood involved work; open wounds, infections, heart disorders, etc. Also a Fertility/ Growth stimulator especially with Gardening/Crops/ Vegetative matters, but can be used equally well in any Health related areas. Used also as a Cash attractant, and in China used to be (and still may for all I know) believed that if one were to rub Bloodstone with the "sap" of a Heliotrope flower it would grant the user, when invoked properly, Invisibility. Note: In some cultures (past and present apparently) Hematite was also called Bloodstone so in this instance I'm referring to the Green, Red spotted variety of mineral.

TURQUOISE: Helps access/ draw in Powers connected to Water and/or Sky (Water/Air) while keeping oneself "grounded" in present here and now. Protection against harm, both accidental and directed, on both physical and spiritual levels. Native American's used the Stone to help bring Rain, Calm/Protect both Horses and Rider from harm and to establish connection between them. Health wise has been used to treat Migraines, problems/disorders in Heart, Lungs, Chest/Respiratory areas, and a general aid to tissue regeneration. Peace and calmness giver and said to indicate intensity of "love" between partners (when exchanged)" the intensity of Color corresponding to Intensity of Love and visa versa.

LAPIS LAZULI: Pricey, but Potent Stone of Fellowship and Cooperation bring heightened awareness of "needs" of those with who you're in contact with. Peace bringer in conflict (inner and outer) situations soothing mental stress, nerves, depression and despondency, fear and xenophobia. Has been used in treatment for Stress Headaches, Fevers, Spleen disorders, Epilepsy, High Blood pressure, and Menstrual problems/discomforts. Also known from promoting Trust, Fidelity, and Spirituality between Partners in "love" areas by aiding one to" see through others eyes" relationship wise.

BLUE TOPAZ: Traditionally Ward/Protection against a number of Mental woes such as Despondency, Grief, Depression, and Lunacy but was also claimed to be souvern ward against the Plague and Hemorrhoids. Brings wearer Strengths of Convictions and understanding of ones Role/Purpose in Life and Grand Scheme. Draws Creativity, Inspiration and Artistic flow. Used (medically) in treatment of Burns, Stings, Rashes, and any Inflammation of the skin. Note: "Blue" Topaz also promotes one's sense Idealism and Rationality and dispels flights of Fancy in bearer, and in those in contact with, so in Matters of Love was used to Promote/Insure Chastity and Virtue.

ONYX (White): And speaking of Plutonic Relationships, White Onyx has a tradition of warding against/ dispelling/ removing any and all Sexual passions or inclinations in Bearer. Promotes Self Control and Attunement to "Higher/Purer" matters by centering one thoughts of "Spiritual" side of circumstance, actions, and place in Life and helping one to find the "best" for all solution/action in deed and thoughts. As a Benefit will also draw Devine/Spiritual Wisdom and Protection to user both in/on Physical and Nonphysical realms. Said to be "The Stone of Popes" way back when.

STONES OF SAGITTARIUS (12/1-12/21)

SAPPHIRE: Presuming they are referring to the Blue/Star Sapphire- stimulates Inner mind/ 3rd Eye and aids in Meditation by easing access to subconscious and opening soul/spirit to "higher vibrations" thus allowing one to view/experience other planes more readily. Also provides one Protection/Shielding against physic attacks both in and out of body. Symbol of Fidelity, Devotion and Truth in Love matters/relationships. Used to treat High Blood Pressure, Insomnia, Nervous conditions, Fevers, Throat and Blood disorders and general aches/pains in joints.

AMETHYST: From Greek (No. I don't know the actual word(s)) meaning "without intoxication" and apparently has been utilized in the treatment of and/or to prevent all sorts of addictions and/or "negative over indulgences" including: drunkenness, envy, gluttony, lust, etc. Also has been used in treatments involving Headaches, Arthritis, Stomach and Digestive disorders (including Constipation). On a Spiritual plane an all around "Good Vibes" stone drawing in soothing, calming energy dispelling irrational fears, nightmares and stress leaving a feeling of general Contentment. Also, will aid in slipping into a warm, Meditative state and provide protection against negative disruptions.

TURQUOISE: Covered Above.

TOPAZ: See above under "Blue Topaz". Comes also in Golden, Sheet Rainbow, Rutiliated and Yellow. But am NOT going into these here. All provide Strength and Grounding of Self in general.

PEARL: Cleansing, Purification, Smoothing out Disruptions and Difficulties by helping one see Ocean rather than just the Breakers. Good of All and Any "West/Water" workings. Adds depth to Meditations and general outlook on things and promotes "fertility and abundance" both in thought and deeds. Symbol also of Pure Love and Devotion. One reference I found says it's a top notch Divination Mineral but no specifics given re: to How to Use or for what kind of Divination. Also apparently good, as draw of money to user. (FYI- While from the Seafood family, do NOT expose for any length of time to White Wine, as has tendency to dissolve them

SUGILITE: Wisdom, Insight and Connective ness between Upper and Lower selves on both Earthly and Spirit levels. Promotes Creative Reasoning and Insight into person life questions such as who am I and Why here type of thing. Not so good with lost car keys however. Said to be all around "Genetic Healer" and Peace/Calmness draw for a number of physic negativity. (Personal Note: I consider it to be "New Age Amethyst". No difference in abilities that I can detect and rather High Ticket as far as price is concerned. And you get some rather strange looks when you ask; " Stressed? Wanna try some Sugilite, baby?")

SODALITE: Booster for Self Esteem and Personal Worth issues and aids in dealings with others in social situations. Stimulates Logic and Awareness in dealing with surroundings by empowering ones ability to make right decisions/choices in Speaking And Actions. Self-Peace and Reassurance. Said also to be good for attracting True Love and Friendship.

STONES OF CAPRICORN (12/22- 12/31)

RUBY: Traditional Stone for attracting Wealth, Prosperity, and Fertility. Also worn/carried to insure Safety from Attack/Harm from source both physical and non. Promotes Joy, Self Esteem, Will Power, and Confidence and increases one's ability to understand problems in whole and find correct solutions. Color Red indicates connection to Heart and Blood and has been used in treatment of all sorts of disorders connected with both these areas including, according to one report, over stimulation by Caffeine; enforcing calmness and metabolic slow down. (One espresso to go and hold the Rubies thank you.)

AGATE: Oh wonderful. I'm sitting here looking my list of 34 "common Agates" (not including Lake Superior and Ellensburg Blues) and shaking my head at where to start. So, all I say is that Agates coming in every color of the spectrum, work on every level of being, and in short if one applies the Rule of Connective ness (i.e.- One Agate has got ties to every other Agate) then if you have a need then Agate pretty much got an answer. Commonly, Agates have been used to bring Health, Wealth, and Long Life to their clients; protecting them from everything from Starvation and Plague to Demonic Attack, Daggers in the Back, and Arsenic in the Soup. Also were considered (at least in Asia and medieval Europe) top of the line divination stone aids.

GARNET: Energy Magnet and Transformer. General "Red/Fire" Stone with connections to Heart/Blood and Birth related issues/problems. Used also to strengthen Physic Shields and to cleansing auras. Repels Negative energy and strengthens Positive. In areas of "Love", promote Devotion, Sincerity, Cooperation, Understanding and Trust. Also has been used in treatments involving skin inflammations and rashes, and disorders of the spine. Used to be considered as ward against biting insects.

LAPIS LAZULI: See Above

HEMATITE: Negative Energy Sponge and Grounder thus rendering user "safe". However, also has the ability to absorb any "excess" energy by balancing bodies abilities to deal with over load and so can be used to attract to user what is wanted/needed and stored up, in Stone like a battery, for later use (Suggest two Stones for this; one for Pos. and one for Neg. work. Conflicting programming can have its side effects and feedbacks). Used as general Healing stone to draw out and render inert "evil humors" and such. Also said to enhance one's ability to think Logically and Rationally especially in area of Mathematics and to increase ones mental capacity for retention as needed. However- YOU will still have to balance the checkbook yourself.

SNOWFLAKE OBSIDIAN: Aids in the Manifestation of Dreams into Realities, Used for physic Shielding as it has both Reflective and Transmuting properties as far a negative energies are concerned. Works with user to help understand one's place in the "Universal Scheme" of things by nudging one's insight into realization that they are not alone but Are unique. Used in the treatment of Skeletal Structure disorders (promoting absorption and regulation of Calcium intake), Sin/Joint inflammations and Nervous conditions. While some claim in good Scrying Stone, I tend to get distracted by the Spots before my eyes, but whatever.

MALACHITE: Earth Power/Life Force Stone. Protects/Shields against Negative while promoting Positive attitudes and workings. Traditionally used to bring success in wide range of Fertility and Health needs especially where children are concerned. Calms Nerves and Emotions and balances out Yin-Yang energies within one's self and life. Used to treat Headaches, Muscular stiffness and aches and general weariness of body and soul. Works as booster and protection for Plants of all types too. (Said to protect against harm from Radiation but I for one am NOT throwing out the Sun block quite yet.)

Another Visit from Grandfather Coyote

Rain drips from the oak leaves and soaks through my down vest. I sit at the edge of a grove of oaks, beneath a fallen beach trunk. the sky is grey and has been for days now. which is why I am here .Driven from the house by my children and family who claim I've been "buggy" and depressed I pack my lunch and the .22 caliber rifle and head for the woods.

The smells of the approaching winter are strong and crisp on the wind. Musky smoke from some far off chimney tickle my nose and bring on memories warm and familiar. This is one of those times of year when I feel most alive.

So I am here, listening to the sound of chickadees and the rattle of beech leaves on almost bare saplings. My senses are focused and a clarity of mind and body surround me.

I am the hunter. This is what nature has conditioned me to be.

My prey is a ball of grey fur and bushy tail that I sent scurrying as I approached this copse of trees. Now he sits on the other side of a large oak . He peek around every once in a while, eyes wide and whiskers twitching.

I raise the rifle and sight down the barrel, waiting. The squirrel chatters and scrabbles around to my side of the tree, startled by the call of a blue jay . He freezes, realizing he is now vulnerable. Head swiveling as he hangs on to the bark with all four feet our eyes meet. The world stops dead as a play that is as old as life itself reaches a silent climax. Prey knowing its time has come and predator knowing that a life sits in its jaws. It is a sacred second that those who kill with no remorse have somehow forgotten. There is power here, but it is overshadowed by the awe and feelings of responsibility that hangs over me.

I click the safety back on and lower my weapon. The grey squirrel practically flys through the branches and disappears into a hollow in a tree off to my right. He pokes his head out and looks at me chattering his confusion. I laugh and take the spam sandwich from my pack. A flutter of feathers and a flash of velvet blue quickly follows.

"You're gonna starve if you keep that up, Tail chaser." croaks the voice over my shoulder. I grin and turn to face my totem spirit.

"You're just worried I won't have enough to fill your bottomless stomach, Grandfather." I reply, leaning back against the roots. Tearing the sandwich, I toss one half up on the log. " That bushy tail wouldn't put much of a dent in either of our appetites."

"So today your Wiskidjac, huh?" I ask. "Just how many faces do you wear, Coyote?"

The bluejay laughs, his shrill voice echoing in the woods. " One more than it takes to stay ahead of my enemies, tail-chaser!" I chuckle along with him as we eat our lunch.

We finish our meal and I close my eyes and listen to the pulse of our mother. It is slow and deeper in tone now that winter approaches. After a few minutes I open my eyes and turn to Grandfather Coyote.

"I've been watching the news a bit, old one, and it appears you have been quite busy."

Coyote pecks at the last bread crumbs and then cocks his head at me. "You recognize my tracks then, cub? That's good you're learning to see things for a change." His eyes sparkle and he fluffs his feathers and continues. "But I can't take all the credit for what's going on out there. Take for example that senator who's plane crashed. That wasn't me. To tell you the truth I kinda liked him. He was pretty honest and had some good ideas. The shadows are responsible for that one and a lot of other stuff that some folks are quick to pin on me."

"I know, seems to me the shadows are getting stronger all the time." I frown recalling more recent events.

" That they are, Tail-chaser, that they are. But they still aren't going to win this battle. You know how they are going to lose don't you?" the spirit asks.

I am still thinking of recent events and answer "How?'

Coyote grins ,or as much as a grin as you can get on a pointy beak, "Exactly!"

I shake myself out of my dark thoughts, confused. Dealing with the Songdog I should be used to that state, but it takes me a second to figure out what he is talking about.

"So we are all going to have to talk like old movie Indians? I don't really see how that's going to frighten powerful negative entities like the Shadows, Coyote." I am already ducking as he explodes off the log and dives at my head. Rolling in the leaves I come to rest sitting square in a pile of fresh deer scat. I am pretty sure it wasn't there when I started my retreat.

Coyote screeches mirthfully and alights on a branch. "Well at least your sense of humor is improving even if your brains are a little slow, monkey! You know what I am talking about. Not How, but H.O.W"

"Honesty, Open mindedness, and Willingness," I say. "I knew what you were talking about." I clean my pants on the leaves. "Honesty with ourselves and each other, Open-mindedness to the idea that a higher power is at work and is willing to guide us if we only will listen, and a willingness to act on that guidance and to work for harmony and the light."

The bright bird freezes on the branch and then as if struck falls to the ground. I look on not knowing exactly what to do. Slowly, the crested head turns and looks at me.

"Stars and garters! I knew you'd get the picture eventually, Tail-wager! Those meetings you go to are doing you a load of good! You just may earn the title of Shaman yet!"

I grin and kick at the leaves. "Shucks, It was nuthin'," I drawl in an passable southern accent.

"So what you gonna do with this nugget of wisdom, monkey boy?" Grandfather asks.

"Well, Charles at SC asked when I was going to submit something. Maybe I'll write it up in a tale and pass it along."

Coyote grins and says, "That should work. Just remember to mention what a handsome devil I am."

I pick up my pack and the rifle and head for the house, calling over my shoulder "Oh I will, I definitely will..."

Responsibility

What is responsibility? In the past it has come to mean duty and to take blame for something. Not something many of us would like to claim, especially in the case of "negative experiences". Negative only meaning, those experiences that made us feel uncomfortable in some way.

Let us look at the word itself - responsibility. It's root meaning is the ability to respond to a situation. We all have the ability to respond to events in our lives. We are beings of response, so it is virtually impossible not to respond to events in our lives. So another view of the word, a view that fits the new earth energy, is to say that we own our experiences. This is to say that we acknowledge that we participated in the creation of the event on some level. What does this mean, to own our creations. Does this mean that we wanted to create a situation where we were robbed, raped, mugged, murdered, abused? Do we create these "negative" situations? Yes, this is exactly what owning our creations mean. That on some level, we created the situation - usually not consciously, but that we are responsible totally for what happens in our lives.

We are creators, each and everything in our lives we create absolutely. There is no blame assigned to our creations, because blame lies in judgment. There simply IS. A particular experience is not good or bad - it is all experience. Some experiences make us uncomfortable - that which we call negative, and some make us feel good - positive experience. Good and bad is all perspective - personal judgement of the situation.

If we are to take responsibility for everything in our lives - then we own our creations. We hold each one in love without judgment, take from it what we will and go on to the next experience. We are each a piece of Divinity - an aspect of Source. Source has no judgment as to how it creates - all is accepted in love and ecstasy for the experience alone.

If you find yourself creating situations that you do not like, embrace them, acknowledge that you created it, and then create what you do want consciously. You have a choice, you can revel in blame and point fingers and refuse to own your creations - and you will find the creation coming back to you over and over again in your life. It comes back to you, because you OWN it, and it will never go away. Your creations are a part of you, they are YOU, and they will be with you for all time.

So the other choice is to embrace your creations. Consciously choose how you want to create, and do it. When your creations come back to you, hold each one in your hands and wrap it in love without judgment. This may seem difficult to do in some situations, but this is what it means to be a responsible creator.

Meditation for Owning our Creations

Close your eyes and get in a state of relaxation. Sit comfortable and slow your breathing and relax your body, muscle by muscle. When you have reached a state of relaxation. Bring to mind an event in your life that was the most beautiful experience you have ever had - a positive experience. Take this experience and imagine it a ball of energy in your hands and hold it in your hands gently. Wrap this ball in a gossamer web of love, a fine garment with threads of gold representing your love for this creation. Hold it in your hands and bring it into your heart and place it there, let your full being embrace this creation and stay with the feeling for as long as you like.

Now, bring to mind an event in your life that was the most uncomfortable, awful experience you can remember - a negative experience. Let yourself remain relaxed when you bring this creation to you. Take this experience and imagine it also a ball of energy in your hands. How is this ball of energy different from the positive one. What does it look like, how does it feel. Now hold this ball of energy gently in your hands also. Wrap this ball in a gossamer web of love also. Did the love transmute the ball of energy in any way. Look at it now. Hold it in your hands and bring it into your heart and place it there, let your full being embrace this creation and stay with the feeling as long as you like.

Next, imagine a ball of energy in your hands representing all past creations, good or bad and hold this ball gently and wrap it in your love the same as the first two. Bring it to your heart again and embrace it with all of your being. You now own all of your past creations. You may do this meditation as often as you like to affirm your owning of your creations.
